Strive is a U.S.-based asset management and structured finance company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Originally focused on investment management, the company is undergoing a major transformation from a traditional asset management platform into a publicly traded company built around a Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy. Strive Asset Management continues managing ETFs and investment products, while the public company’s strategic focus has shifted toward accumulating Bitcoin through capital markets and building a new corporate financial structure. By the end of 2025, Strive’s assets under management exceeded $2.4 billion.

If you believe ASST is simply another company benefiting from Bitcoin price movements, you may be overlooking its broader strategy. Strive is building a capital markets platform that uses common equity, preferred securities, and other financing tools to raise capital and convert that capital into Bitcoin assets. Instead of only benefiting from Bitcoin price changes, the company is actively increasing its Bitcoin holdings and creating additional asset exposure through its balance sheet.

Many investors still view Strive as a traditional asset management company, but the company has increasingly positioned itself as a structured finance company with a Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy. Its asset management business provides a traditional financial foundation, while its growing Bitcoin treasury has become the key factor separating ASST from conventional investment firms. Strive began holding digital assets in September 2025 and had accumulated approximately 7,627 Bitcoin by the end of that year.

The company’s largest expansion came in January 2026 through the acquisition of Semler Scientific, which added approximately 5,048 Bitcoin to Strive’s holdings. The transaction was primarily completed using stock consideration, allowing the company to expand its Bitcoin reserves without relying solely on cash. After the acquisition, Strive’s Bitcoin holdings approached 12,800 Bitcoin. The company continued increasing its holdings throughout 2026, reaching approximately 26,355 Bitcoin by September 18, 2026.

From this perspective, ASST increasingly resembles a Bitcoin accumulation platform built within public capital markets rather than a traditional financial company. The company’s strategy depends on the relationship between Bitcoin growth and capital market access. By using common shares, preferred securities, and other financing tools, Strive is attempting to create a structure where additional capital can be used to expand its Bitcoin holdings while increasing the amount of Bitcoin represented by each share.

Strive’s capital structure is a key part of this strategy. As of September 18, 2026, the company held approximately $229.6 million in cash and cash equivalents, approximately $49.75 million worth of STRC preferred shares, and more than 26,000 Bitcoin. However, this model also carries risks, including Bitcoin price volatility and potential dilution from future share issuance. Strive has disclosed these factors in its SEC filings, highlighting that its performance is closely connected to both Bitcoin markets and capital allocation efficiency.

Public companies holding Bitcoin were once viewed as an experimental approach, but this strategy has gradually become a new form of corporate capital management. Traditional companies often focus on increasing earnings per share, while Strive is attempting to increase another metric: the amount of Bitcoin represented behind each share. With more than 26,000 Bitcoin holdings and continued access to capital markets, Strive is no longer operating as a traditional asset management company, which is the main reason ASST continues attracting market attention.
